Approach to Funding

The work that Tim Henman’s Foundation is doing to bridge the divide between the quality of opportunities being created for all our young people is of great significance. We need all organisations to support local communities through the Foundation's outreach, scholarship and special needs programmes for students and their teachers and parents.

Current Five Year Plan

The Tim Henman Foundation is an independent grant making charitable foundation. We fund registered charities across the UK and target our support in line with our five year plan.

From 2019 to 2024 the Trustees will focus their support on establishing the programmes launched with existing Trustee Approved Partners. In addition the Trustees have identified a short list of partners for future consideration.

The expectation is that Approved Partners will be working throughout the UK in a targeted manner to improve the lives and prospects of young people “at risk” from family breakdown; poor mental health; addiction; abuse and poverty; or to improve the quality of life for young people who are  life threatened or life limited.

Approach

The Tim Henman Foundation undertakes its own research to determine the charities it wishes to consider for funding and will make direct contact to begin discussions about opportunities.

Applications for funding are therefore not invited.

Charities can alert The Tim Henman Foundation of their work if they are seeking to improve the lives and prospects of deserving young people “at risk”.

Please send a brief email (no attachments please) to info@henmanfoundation.org
We regret that it is not possible to acknowledge or send a reply to those that make contact in this way.

Becoming a Partner

The Tim Henman Foundation undertakes its own research to determine the charities it wishes to consider for funding and will make direct contact to begin discussions about opportunities.

Applications for funding from unknown third parties are therefore not invited.

We are nevertheless interested to learn of the work of other charities seeking to improve the lives and prospects of deserving young people “at risk”. Please send a brief email (no attachments please) to info@henmanfoundation.org . We regret that with our small team we may not always be able to send an acknowledgement.

Grant Process

The Trustees will consider the list of potential Approved Partners at their February/March Trustees Meeting. Trustees are able to nominate organisations for approval as Partners.

  1. The Trustees will draw up a list of those Partners who are to be invited to apply for funding.
  2. Completed applications from Approved partners must be received by 31 May each year.
  3. Applications will be considered for approval at the September Trustees’ Meeting (Grant Approval Meeting).
  4. Letters will be sent out in September advising Partners that grants have been agreed subject to conditions
  5. Grants will be paid to Partners in December for allocation January – December of the following year.
